Can't test animation in browser

Hi there,

I’m (very) new to Adobe Animate and have just worked through my first tutorial course.
My problem is, I can’t for the life of me to get the animation to test in a browser! It quickly runs through something (too fast for me to see) and then….. nothing!
I have never got it to work, not once. Tried with different files and even project files supplied from the course.
I’ve been previewing my work by double-clicking the html file.

My usual browser is FireFox, but I downloaded Chrome and set to default after reading some post recommendations but still nothing.

I feel something is blocking the browser from launching??

Any ideas? Going crazy (prob already there).

Further Info: Working from a Mac (2021), macOS: Sonoma 14.4.1 and have the latest version of Adobe Animate.

I have exactly the same problem too, is there any answer on how to fix it. Also brand new to Animate and not a coder. Have tested files supplied by professionals who have managed to test them themselves, but it wont work for me at all. Would love to know what the fix is. Have tried 5 different files from different people and no luck. Browser doesnt open and a message appears in the Output window each time. Cheers Gia

yes, you just fix your error(s).

if you need help with that, start with

    Lesson 2: https://youtu.be/H9e9toftvdM

p.s. the ouput panel messages when publishing an html5 document are warnings/informational.

thanks, but I dont think its a code error. I tried with just a blank document also with nothing on it, and I still cant preview or publish nor can anyone in my Team. We are opening jobs that have been previewed and published already by other people so the code should be good as we havent changed anything. This is the first time we have installed and opened Animate so it seems to be something to do with the software. I have tried on my work Mac and my own home Mac and it works on neither. Am really hoping we can find someoen to help us. Cheers Gia

    Appriciate the reply.

Testing with document set up as HTML5 Canvas.

Tried both; Control > Test and Control > Test Movie > In Browser

    Hi kglad,

I've attached screenshoots of FireFox browser console.

Coding is not my thing, can you see anything there?

I got a work mate to open Animate on his PC (I'm a Mac girl) to give it a shot. He opened one of my files and hit 'test on browser' and it worked for him. (He uses Microsoft Edge as his browser)

I've tried on my Mac at home & here at work + different browsers and no joy 😞

you have, at least, one error.  click the first message error link to see the line of code that needs to be fixed
