Hi all,

I used Animate CC (HTML5) to create a video. In this video, I have to use chinese characters and I found that some chinese characters become weird in the published html file. (see below)

How can I resolve this issue if I want to keep this font?

Many thanks!!!

Vincent

Hi.

Have you tried web fonts? Is the result the same?

You can also break fonts apart (Ctrl/Cmd + B) in the end to make sure texts won't change.

Also, if your output is only a video with 0 interactivity, you better use AS3 documents because they have a greater range of features and bigger compatibility.

JC

Hi JC,

Thanks for your advice. Finally, I break the character into strokes and remove the weird part of that character.

By the way, what is web fonts? Can I find the fonts in the font pull-down list in animate CC?

Many thanks.

Best regards,

Vincent

Excellent.

Taking Google Fonts as an example:

When you use desktop fonts to create and publish your web outputs, customer experience is not optimal. Animate introduces Google fonts that provide a consistent typographic experience across all form factors. Google fonts are free open source fonts served by Google servers. For more information on Google fonts and the original font designers, see https://fonts.google.com/about and https://fonts.google.com/attribution.

Advantages of using Google fonts are:

  • Caching: After an initial download, the fonts are stored in your local systems and you do not have to download them repeatedly. This loads the text faster.
  • Open source: They are freely available, and can be redistributed or modified based on your requirements.
  • Compatiblity: They work seamlessly with your advertising and web content.
  • Responsive: They provide a responsive content experience across all form factors for a consistent aesthetic appeal.

I hope these help.
