Worried that this will still be an issue when Sonoma is officially released next week- currently is effecting all versions of Animate.

if you have a corrupt font, remove and replace.

The fonts are not corrupted and work fine on previous versions of MacOS and Windows. Adding ANY new font and embedding it produces this issue.

I think I am having the same issue with Animate + Sonoma!

I am working on a document using embedded fonts. After I updated to macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) all texts were silently changed to the font Helvetica/Regular. I cannot even change the font back to one of my embedded fonts (e.g. "FontBold*") - it immediately jumps back to Helvetica/Regular.

This did not happen when using the same version of Animate on macOS 13, just a few minutes before the update to macOS 14.

I already filed a bug report.

Yup! I'm having exactly what you describe. Animate 2024 is apparently going to be Apple silicon native, so hopefully this will be fixed in that version.

Unfortunately, Animate 2024 on Apple Silicon does not solve this issue.

I just upgraded to Sonoma and ran into this issue. Has this been fixed yet since this issue was discovered 9 months ago?

Wow! This is pretty critical. It basically broke the update I'm working on.

Did you come up with any work around?

Unfortunately no- I luckily had an older machine in my closet that I'm using. I submit this bug almost every week- feel free to join!

I am running Animate in a macOS 13.6 Virtual Machine using UTM (https://mac.getutm.app/)

Far from optimal, but it's the best I came up with.
