Error while opening a project in Animate

This has been happening and I don't know why, I've lost a lot of progress because of it. It basically tells me it had an error opening and and thats it, I've tried using the WinRAR method to fix it, and it didn't work. I've tried reinstalling Animate CC (But I checked "Keep Preferences") and it didn't work. Does anyone have a good solution or has anyone experienced this? Thanks!

if other fla files open without that error, you have a corrupted fla.

I understand that, but I don't know how to fix it, winRAR isn't working

most of the time (in my experience) the fla's not repairable. 

always save your fla files (periodically) with increasing version numbers so you never lose much work.

You can try contacting Adobe Support Contact Customer Care  to see if they can repair the file for you.

Also use a search engine and look for ways to correct a corrupted file in Flash Pro or Adobe Animate. See if any of those suggestions are worth considering in your situation.
