Question

exporting of animation result in poor video quality

I am using Adobe Animate 2021. I have an animation created in 1920X1080 Full HD, frame rate 30, Platform type Action Script 3. When I export using Export>Video/Media to video with H.264 Present: High Bitrate the video exports blurry.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Video resolution with Media Encoder is based on stage size, not render size. If you have a small stage size and attempt to render at a higher resolution the video will end up blurred. Media Encoder will just stretch the pixels to fit the render size but won't upscale the output. The only preset that properly upscales to render size is QuickTime > Default (Animate), which gives you an uncompressed MOV file straight from Animate without using ME.

For Media Encoder only formats (incluiding H.264) increase your stage resolution in the properties panel and make it match your desired video dimensions. For a Full HD video your stage size (and render size) should be 1920 x 1080 px.

Thank you for your quick replay Mario!

I followed your advice. My stage size is 1920x1080 and render size was 1920x1080. However when I exported it directly from Animate to Quicktime I still didn't get the crisp, clear .swf file which is disappointing. In addition because the file size is so big and I need people to see it I took it into ME and choose H.264 with High Quality HD as the preset. Maybe I'm just being fussy but I wish I could somehow maintain the the crisp clear video output I got as a .swf file.

SWF will always have superior quality since it's using infinite scalable vectors instead of pixels. Video rasterizes the content into pixels and so will never compare; to get better video quality you need more pixels there's no way around it.

If 1080p is not a good enough res for your project, try exporting it in 4K (3840 x 2160). Again if you need it to be in H.264 format you need to match stage size with render size.
