Question

First frame - stop (); drops rest of video

Greetings!  I'm new to animate, although I did do some work way back in the Flash v3 era....  I'm working on a Christmas video that I've created a workaround solution for an issue I think you experts can solve.

My basic video begins with a welcome frame that includes a "play" button.  When I tested it, and all works perfectly using the stop (); and gotoAndPlay (); action - about 15 seconds of animation and 30 seconds of background music.

When I export the video to a .mov file, the video drops and playback is 5 seconds of a blank screen.  If I delete the stop (); action, the full export works, but the nice stop and play function is lost.

What am I missing?  Thanks for your help in advance.

a mov has no interactivity/actionscript.

publish a projector if you want others to download and play your video, or a canvas html5 if you want them to play it on mobiles/computers.

Hi kglad,

Should I save the video in html5 or do you have another solution?

Thanks so much.

you're welcome.

Kglad,

As a follow up, I'm now struggling with similar, but different issues now that I switched from java script to html5, and I've watched so many videos and tweaked so much, still with no finish line in sight.  Hoping you could perhaps take a look (the action script is three commands), I tried the export to projector, and found out it doesn't support html files.

Is this something you'd be willing to take a look at with some direction on how I can show it to you?  I'm experiencing the beginners fatigue and don't know what to do.

Thanks for considering this.
