i'm not sure what you're asking but if you're looking for an auto-recovery file open AutoRecoverFilenames.txt** and see if there was a saved file and, if so, check the folder location listed

ok i tried that and it fixed the black screen thing but now the error message says "unable to create image buffer" and when i press ok it just pops up again, do you know what to do about that?

reset your animate preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/animate/using/set-preferences.html
if that fails,
uninstall animate including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html
restart your computer
use the desktop app to reinstall animate
