how do i get the sound to pause. it remains even as i navigate to other menus

execute channel.stop() when you want that sound to stop.

so just write channel.stop() after the code? or write it on all other pages in the site?

if that's what you want. but it might make more sense to execute it when you leave the frame that starts the sound, if that's what you want.
