I just want to be able to animate to audio. But when I drag the audio file into the timeline, I can't hear it. So what do I have to to hear audio in Animate? When I googled it, my first result is this: https://community.adobe.com/t5/animate/can-t-hear-audio-in-animate-cc/td-p/9212206 in which someone ansewered a solution, but I don't understand it(it might be important to note though, that this is from 2017). What is Action Scripts? Is it something that comes with Adobe, or do I have to install it seperately? Is it absolute necessary just to play back audio on the timeling in Animate?

click the keyframe where you want the sound to start and in the properties panel, scroll to sound (if necessary), and select your sound.

Ok, thanks, I managed to do that. But I still can't hear the audio on playback in the program... I've made sure it's not just my computer.

Hi mate,
You can use Google Drive or any other file sharing service.

Ok, thanks! How's this? This is a simplistic animation I've been working on, in which I tried ot add audio that won't play...

You should change the file permissions to 'anyone with the link', mate!
Otherwise people can't view it.

Just to add to what's been said in the thread before.
Check your source audio file. To work properly it has to be 44100Hz, 16-bit, ideally PCM WAV.
Anything higher than 16-bit will probably not play; also 48000Hz will cause other problems.
To hear the sound while scrubbing, you need to set it to Stream.

Ok, thanks, I'll check for those things. Anyway, can you see it now? https://drive.google.com/open?id=1CHBrPy6IcIQKQzsV3odWWau0eohqxMci

Hi mate,
Yeah. File opens fine.
Waveform is just a line and audio does not play.
Most likely cause is incompatible source file, which animate can't understand.
My suspicion is 24-bit or 32-bit audio.
Open your WAV in an audio application and downsample it to 16-bit 44100Hz, import again and it should work.
Also change sync to Stream, but this is only a secondary issue of synchronisation.

I tried to go back and edit it in Adobe Audition, but for some reason, the option is greyed out... https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1CHBrPy6IcIQKQzsV3odWWau0eohqxMci

I don't use Audition so I can't give you specific advice, but most likely you need to re-sample before saving as.

Is the sound behavior set to Stream? Select a frame where the sound is in the layer - go to Properties Panel > Sound drop down section and set it to Stream (default is Event).
