Question

I cannot find "Object Drawing Mode" but every tutorial has it

I am new to animate and many tutorials are suggesting something called "object drawing mode". I can't seem to find it on my screen. On many tutorials, it shows up as a small icon at the bottom of the tool tab. And when I press the rectangle tool I see something called "object drawing" which I can turn on, but it doesn't show up for the primitive rectangle tool, which my current tutorial is suggesting. Where is the button or option for object drawing mode in the current version of adobe animate?

Hi.

The Object Drawing Mode (meaning shapes created with it won't merge together when overlaid) toggle is indeed located at the bottom of the Tools panel.

But only these tools support it: Pencil, Line, Pen, Brush, Oval, Rectangle, and Polygon.

The Rectangle Primitive Tool doesn't support it because it cannot be merged together anyway.

I hope it helps.

Regards,

JC

I found the object drawing mode once I hit the pencil tool, but cannot disable it. I tried clicking and double clicking but it won't deactivate. Thanks.
