Lines won't draw or anything in Flash Professional CS6

Hello everyone. I'm trying to use this program for a small project I'm using. I'm using tutorials and everything to try to figure it out, but it's proving difficult.

This probably has a really obvious answer and I'm gonna look dumb when I find out. But whenever I try to draw with anything other than the brush tool, it won't show up. The brush tool doesn't exactly fit what I had in mind, so I thought using a different tool would give me the stroke look I was looking for. But whenever I try to use the pencil, pen, or line tool, nothing shows up. I've tried adjusting the point size, changing the color, nothing.

Be sure you are work on separate layers (avoid animated layers) - your wideo does not work

According to your video, it seems to me that your stroke color has 0 opacity. Change it in the color picker or click this button to reset the colors:
