Question

Scaling an armature layer

Hello,

New to animate.  I rigged characters using the bone tool.  In my first scene, I want to zoom in on the characters, so I tried scaling them up.  This however seems to affect the scale throughout the entire timeline.  I guess you can't tween these layers, and adding "poses" doesn't seem to work either.

Is there something I am missing?

Thanks,

Stu

Yeah the Bone tool can reveal more issues than solutions but you do have options:
    1. Use the Camera tool to zoom and pan.
    2. Copy Frames > Paste Frames of your armature into a new Graphic Symbol and place an istance of that on the stage in a new layer. Then scale the symbol. That should work. I don't actually use the Bone tool so I'd have to test, but in theory, that should work.

    Thanks

I would use Layer Parenting yes but even better is a 3rd party tool called Flanimate Power Tools. Really smart and powerful IK and FK system built for Flash/Animate:

You might benefit from a 30min video where I explain it and show how to use it...
