Tagged swatches - Doesn't work with textfields and generally buggy?

Two separate issues with Tagged Swatches:

  1. I can't find a way to apply a tagged swatch on a textfield. In the properties panel with a textfield selected, I click Color but only see default swatches. With a textfield selected, in the tools menu, I click to change the fill color, and see tagged swatches. But choosing a tagged swatch only applies the color to my text, not the link to the color. The color of the text in its properties won't get the corner triangle indicating a link. Then of course, editing the tagged swatch doesn't apply to the text. Does anyone have a way to make tagged swatches work with text?
  2. There's a bug when trying to add a swatch. If you have the "Swatches" window open, then select the "Tagged Swatches" folder, then click the "Create a new Swatch" button it adds your current fill color into the "Tagged Swatches", with the corner triangle. But it's not a REAL Tagged Swatch! You try to apply it to anything and that object won't have the corner triangle anymore. What you have to do is select your color in the "Swatches" window, click "Convert to a Tagged Swatch", give it a new name and delete the old one. Then it'll actually start acting like a real Tagged Swatch. It seems like Animate just gave anything under the "Tagged Swatches" folder the triangle, meaning the UI is lying to us.

Yes.

This is totally useless.

Even if you can use it, you can't store it separately.

Can only be used in the current document.

I suggest that you do not use the label swatch, but use CTRL + F

Can anyone confirm if this Tagged Swatches can't apply to text? Because if so it's seriously limiting, and should be added as an update.

Well that sucks. I guess I'll have to use Ctrl + F for now, then. Thanks.
