Just in case anyone finds this post looking for the answer or still needs To fix this problem;
Follow this path:
Turn on the "An" software
ctrl + Alt + del ---- on keyboard
click on task Manager
go to menu === Details
Choose the "An" software (Of course, the software must be running)
right - click on "Name" top of the column and choose "select Column" option
select the "GDI Objects" option and tick it
Close "An" and open it back up
I had to do this twice but it seems to work on the first try for others

Yes, I also found that the 2023 version does not produce the error. Unfortunately, I have to keep using the current version - I teach classes with Animate and need to stay on the version that my students are required to use.

Please see the below report so we have more insight into why the files aren’t working even in the other machine. And tends to shut down as soon as the Animate application opens

May i know why this error? is there any bug with the application or the .fla file?
Great if you can debug the error report and give me the solution

your computer specs are minimal though i don't know if that's related to the error.

does the error occur when testing a new fla saved to your desktop that has no content?
Link in Zwischenablage kopieren

No, the error occurs as soon i opens the worked creative design file making about 16 layers playing for 12secs.
sometimes it gives you the GDI status error and says to send report, yes/no, closes the tool. weirdly!

NO, when testing a new fla saved which has content. indeed when and as soon the file dropped in to open, or sometimes fortunately when you're trying to export any asset from the file (99% rare).

the error does not occur with a new fla saved to the desktop, correct?

@kglad The animate closes/crushes down: On every action, opening new/old file, creating a file, etc.
The application is now unusable.

contact adobe support via chat. there are 2 ways to contact adobe; chat and twitter (now x):
chat:
if you have or want to purchase a subscription, use a browser that allows popups and cookies
and click here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human.
twitter/x:
tweet @AdobeCare
p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative.

Using binary search method, I found the newest version that works without the GDI status error is 23.0.10. All newer versions, i.e. anything that starts with 24, will give me that error when running the pig run tutorial shortly after typing the "pig" search word

Yes getting the same thing myself just on loading a tutorial. Brand new to the software. Not a great start.

This was also happening to me and I believe it has something to do with the Asset tab on the right. I'd get the error on every letter I typed in the search panel or any assets I clicked on. I found another thread on reddit talking about the same issue and here is the solution that worked for me (although I have no idea why this works):
1. Open Animate
2. Open Windows Task Manager (right-click on the task bar and select "Task Manager")
3. On the left, select "Details"
4. Locate "Animate" and click on it, once
5. On the Column Header "Name", right-click and select "Select columns"
6. Scroll down and check the box next to "GDI objects" and click "OK"
7. Restart Animate
Again, I have no idea why this works. I think this just adds a column to the task manager view but the error has stopped almost completely since. (Even the one time on startup has stopped appearing)
Hope this helps.

Ok, I'm a low level device driver software engineer. A silly solution like this, that doesn't make sense, shouldn't actually work, but it does. It is strange. So, from my background, this is what I think is happening. Animate is getting a bunch of handle to GDI objects and some are released possibly and Animate doesn't know they are and tries to access one of the freed objects. However, by going into Task manager and adding that column, it is actively looking for GDI objects and therefore any that are invalid are getting garbage collection ran on them and so they don't exist and animate can't use them or even try to use them. I'm only speculating, but by making taskmanager run and actively look at what is available, the ones that are not are garbage collected by the system...thus fixing the problem.
Adobe should actively call "garbage collection" before running the tutorial, or if they are using C++ actively free up the handles to the GDI objects.
Again, thanks dude this actually fixes the issue so I can do the tutorials, but Adobe....come on.... for a $700 a year I pay you... you should at least test your Sh*t before releasing it.

from your perspective, could this error be caused by a video card with improper settings?
Link in Zwischenablage kopieren
Kopiert
Yep, I think I put a message up on this thread before about what I did to
fix it....and it seems to be gone now, hasn't returned in ages.
I think I just set my Nvidia card to use program specific settings...but
I'm pretty sure it was video card settings.
