Batch Processed .WAV files get the wrong filename .WAV.mp3

Hello,

I am using Adobe Audition Build 24.2.0.83 on a HP PC with Windows 11 Enterprise 23H2.

When I Batch Process a wave-file with the extension ".WAV" to mp3, the converted mp3-file gets the extension ".WAV.mp3".

If the file has the extension ".wav", the converted file gets the correct extension ".mp3"

I do not have this problem with Audition 3.

Please help me with this issue with uppercase letters in the extension, now I am forced to use Audition 3 instead of the updated version.

Kind Regards

Mats Lundell

Hi Mats235937670gng,

We are unable to repro the issue on local system. Please check windows explorer view > show " Show file name extensions" is enabled. And how name is appearing on Batch process panel.

Before running the batch process and after runnig the batch process.

Abhishek

Just out of curiosity, does the same thing happen if you try the same process using the Beta version?

After batch process:

In explorer view I always have Show file name extensions enabled.

I have the same problem on three different computers, with both Windows 10 and 11, and with several updates of Adobe Audition.

The problem is with extension which is in upper case. We are able to reproduce this issue. We will be working on a fix. meanwhile,  as a workaround use files with lowercase extension.

The reason I ask for a solution, is that I recieve a lot of files with the extension in upper case (a lot of field recorders produce this extension), I do not have the time to change the extension on hundreds of files, this is the reason I have to use Adobe Audition 3, for a different reason I cant use Adobe Audition 3 for other tasks. If you could correct this error I could use Adobe Audition 2024 for all tasks.

Please contact me when you have corrected the bug.

Kind regards

Mats
