Can you please share the export settings to export to mp3? Also share the Audition version you are using.

It's doing the same thing for me. I'm using Audition 2023. Sample Type: Same as Source; Format Settings: MP3 192 Kbps CBR. Location is to a Drive with over 800 gigs of free space, and the file size (in Wav) is 547.34 MB...

Please Help, this is getting frustrating.

Is that D drive a local drive or is a USB drive?
If it is not a local drive try exporting to a local drive

The D drive is a local drive.

I found another place that suggested rewinding the Audition version. That worked.

@defaultu6nid6l4qv5a Unfortunately we are not able to repro the problem locally. Is it possible to share the source file(wave) us? You can upload to any cloud location and share the link @ audbugs@adobe.com . Thank you in advance.

Have you tried not saving it on the desktop? That really isn't a good place to save anything other than links.

Thank you @Paul23451524mvc8 for reporting us the problem. We are actively looking into it, unfortunately we could not reproduce it at our end. We need your help to isolate the problem and fix it.
Is it possible for you to share a small recording of the bug? In case if the bug is file specific, you can share the source file by uploading to a cloud location and share the link @ audbugs@adobe.com

I have tried saving it to different locations and drives, same result. I can save it as a wave file or a flac file which is odd.

If there is no issue saving as wav or flac but only mp3 perhaps there is an issue with libsndfile - maybe being damaged or a conflict?

Happening here also - latest version of software appears to be the common denominator. Occurs in the Waveform editor and not hte multttrack editor when creating a new mp3 only regardless of sample rate.

  • Does not affect the recording but produces the error window only.
  • Saving the mp3 is no problem once recorded and the saving process does not produce the error.
  • Does not happen when creating new .wav.
  • Does not occur when recording into multitrack

I will also send the to the audbugs@adobe.com email

I have still yet to find a solution to this (beyond exporting as a wave then converting in Soundforge, which is dfar from ideal) My problems seem to be in it's interaction with Izotope Ozone, I use it on my master channel and I need it for my podcast because they have all been record the same way.

Hello all, we have reproed the issue at our end and are working on it. The issue appears when using some of the non-adobe plugins - like Izotope Ozone. Current workaround - you can generate wave and in next launch(close Audition and reopen) export the wave file to generate mp3. If you get the mp3 error, it will not go away till you relaunch Audition.
This solution is far from ideal and we are working to fix this issue.

You cannot export a wave to create an MP3. Oh dear. I'm concerned now and no nearer to a solution. It's not a beta product you know.

Hey! You can export a .wav to mp3. You just use: Export -> File (instead of
mixdown) and it exports in a minute or so.

Hey yourself! I'm sorry that I'm getting frustrated that it isn't working, I rely on this to get paid. The only way I can do file export is in the waveform editor, not the multi-track editor. I need to export the entire session as an MP3.

Yeah, I also use it for the getting of paid! 😉

It's incredibly frustrating that they managed to screw up something that
was working perfectly fine.

Good luck to you!

Hello all, we can very much understand how frustrating it is to hit mp3 export error. Feel sorry for it.
Good news is, we have fixed the issue and will be available in upcoming Audition release. You can also validate the fix in latest Audition beta builds(Creative Cloud->Beta Apps->Audition).
Main issue is a conclict with same dlls in Audition and that comes with some external VST plugins.
As of today, suggested workaround -> if you are using 3rd party plugins in your session, export it to a wave file. Then close Audition, relaunch, open the wave file and export it. If you run into mp3 export problem, then even for a simple wave file export you would get this errror unless you relaunch Audition..

No idea... Now I can't even save the file while I'm working on it... It pops up with the same warning. I pushed the version I'm using back to 23.3 seems to work fine. Don't know what you updated to cause these problems. But I hope it was worth it.
