I am trying to add a transition between two audio files. Not a fade in and out but some other type like the age old needle scratching on the recorder. Can you point me in the right direction please?
Hi. I don't have AA CC 2017 but iZotope Vinyl would be one plug-in that can do exactly what you want, and it's free! https://www.izotope.com/en/products/create-and-design/vinyl.html

emrecs got in before me but I can also recommend Isotope Vinyl as a very useful plugin. Besides a couple of other reverbs, it's probably my most-used plug in in my world of sound effects..
Otherwise, there are thousands of needle scratch sound effects out there and one might give you what you need. A good place to start would be www.freesound.org. As the name implies, they're all free.
If you do find a separate effect you like, just set up a multitrack session and do quick mixes from music to scratch effect to the next music track.
