Audition 3 won't load mp3 files

I tried to load some mp3s in Audition 3 but they wouldn't even load.

Tried dragging and dropping in but nothing happened.

Tried 'open audio' and got this message.

No clue what's going on. I checked the bit rates on these files versus the ones that DID load and some were better on the non-loading than the loaded.

Any idea what's going on?

I was able to load them only after converting to wav format.

Could it be something to do with the non alphabetical characters in the title names? Do they open OK if you rename them to something simple .mp3? Otherwise use MediaInfo to check their format and post the file info produced here for us to look at.

I'll make sure there's nothing but alphabetical characters in the file name, tomorrow, when I'm back at work.

Pretty sure I was able to playback the audio on Windows Media Player though.
