Audition CC - Parametric equalizer low pass frequency envelope

Hi,
I need to keyframe the Parametric Equalizer - LowPass frequency, but I donť see an option in the envelopes drop down menu, see image, or maybe I'm just blind.

They don't refer to them as 'Low Pass' but Low Shelf - which of course acts at the opposite end of the frequency spectrum as Low Pass. Confusing, isn't it? Especially as the presets refer to them correctly... 😉

The parameter you are talking about is this one, it's what it refers to when I create keyframes with the Low Shelf envelope:

That's the high shelf frequency, as I implied, but didn't specifically state, as I thought you could extrapolate from what I said...

As I mentioned, the labeling isn't clear; it should follow what it say on the controls and it doesn't. I will mention this to the developers, and hopefully the errors can be corrected.

Wait, I just realized that the HighShelf envelope still does't affect the parameter I am targeting...

Tha last parameter (LP) doesn't have an envelope. But you could actually help me with my general issue.

I need to make a voice fade into unclear gibberish (underwater-like), like when a person stops percieving what the other person is saying.

I had a look at this - you're correct. This and the HP filter are not controllable by the automation system at all. In a way this really isn't that surprising; normally you'd just set these to cut off extremes, and wouldn't try to alter the settings at all.

But you could actually help me with my general issue.  I need to make a voice fade into unclear gibberish (underwater-like), like when a person stops perceiving what the other person is saying.

Using a filter to do this generally doesn't work too well - you don't really get that 'wooly' feeling if you do. My general approach to making speech gradually sound really confused is to use the Analog Delay effect, and something like the Triplet Refrain preset, and use the automation to gradually increase the feedback. That's not the only preset - many of the others would give you different but similar effects. Experimenting with this is almost certainly your best way forward, I'd say.

Jumping in here in hope of clarification...

In Premiere the low/high pass filters are easily keyframed. Are we saying they can't be keyframed in Audition? I see that low/high shelf can be keyframed, however they don't fully cutoff frequencies like low/high pass.

If this is indeed the case, seems odd that Premiere can do an audio thing that Audition can't. Hoping to find a solution that doesn't involve moving my project across to Premiere for the one filter.
