Was using notch filter to remove some 200k in a 3-minute stereo wav. Decided to make no changes but now I have about a 5db bump of 200k in entire file. I've tried everything including undo, history, effects rack stuff, etc. Is this a known problem?
Thanks,
Ethan

200k? What exactly do you mean? The range of hearing goes from about 20Hz to 20kHz. And since you haven't detailed at all what the steps that you took were, it's rather hard to say what the problem is. For a start, was this on a Mac or a PC?

Thanks for getting back to me. Details- PC, Audition ver. 12-ish. Same error twice.
In other DAWs I've used a non-destructive notch filter to locate specific frequencies to make them louder/softer. In this case a snare drum had some 200k-220k that I wanted to work on. I cut about 5db with narrow Q, listened, decided not to change anything and closed the effect. Now there is about 5db extra 200k noise playing throughout the entire 3 minute file. To remove it I tried various combinations of the following: undo, earlier versions in history list, re-opening effect to disable all possible selectors, disabling effects rack, etc. I haven't opened an auto-save yet b/c I'd lose some work but might still have error. Latency/buffer is appropriate for normal editing.
Any fixes for this? What am I doing wrong in Audition? Thanks for everyone's help in advance.

Did you read what @SteveG_AudioMasters_ wrote in his reply? The range of hearing goes from about 20Hz to 20kHz.
I know of no method at all by which any audio at 200k (taken to be 200kHz) could be audible, let alone be described as something needing to be removed! Did you, perhaps mean 20kHz?

200kHz or 200Hz??? There is a rather large difference between the two!!

Hey I just solved the problem myself! Audition is a hold-over from my past but not a part of my future. Good luck fellas.
