Cannot chose connected devices input/output

Hi

New to this program and this is driving me crazy atm.

I have a Motu express interface as well as a virtual audio cable that shows up fine in the hardware section.

But when I try to chose the different inputs/outputs I can still only chose the defaults as in the second picture? This doesn't make any sense to me at all, if the program finds the different hardware, why is it not presenting me with the correct options?

Thnx

This is mainly because you've picked the MME device class. If you pick ASIO, there's a good chance that the MOTU inputs will become available.

I am aware of the different driver types and I have tried both the ASIO drivers for the Motu card as well as ASIO4all driver. The results are the same however. All the devices I have plugged in are visible and found in the hardware section as in the first picture.

But when I try to chose those devices in the hardware mapping and/or in the input list it only gives me the option to set the devices that are considered default.

So no matter what driver I chose, the only input/output available are the Default and it doesn't make sense, all the devises should be available no?

Are you saying that in your first screengrab, you cannot click on one of those other options and move the blue square with the dot at all?

No sorry, not sure how I should explain this properly since I'm not really sure what I'm doing.

Screenshot might be a bit misleading.
After I've chosing an ASIO driver (depending on which one) I see all my devices available in the Hardware list as in the first picture.

When I after that go into Audio Channel Mapping I cannot map any of the devices that are available in the hardware list, just the default devices set in the Hardware list is visible/available.

This is regardless of what driver I chose.

So the issue I have is that no matter what driver I use, I cannot seem to use any other device than the one that are set as Default.
Did that clarify?

Thnx for the help btw, appreciated.

What appears to be missing is that you haven't selected which of the options in the list you wish to be the default input - you have to make a selection there before it will show up in the audio channel mapping. So if you selected MOTU analog 1 & 2, then this would become the new default.

No not really, my problem is that I cannot connect anything BUT the devices that I set as Default.

That kind of defeats the purpose of a multitrack if you cannot chose more than one signal as input.

MME drivers never allow more than just a stereo input. If you want to use all of the available inputs, you have to use ASIO.
