I would love to be able to change the app colors in Audition - not Edit > Preferences > Appearance > General, but the active and inactive menu items and icons. I cannot abide gray-on-gray - it's insulting, as if a clever UI designer was thinking, "Ha-ha, catch me if you can - I'm going to make it as hard as possible for you to see the program features." Hipster design must die! At any rate, I'm on Windows 10. Thanks!

Completely agree. I'm used to CUBASE with black wavelengths on a white background, whenever I use AUDITION my eyes are straining to see luminous coloured wavelengths on a grey background with grey controls. I tried preferences and it seems only slightly less grey is the only option.

I don't think you've tried hard enough. The corporate grey is now a given, right across Adobe and many items can't be altered, but the waveform and its background are easy to alter. If you experiment a bit, black on white isn't a problem at all:

Thank for your reply but I did toggle through different colours in the Preferences > Appearance > Waveform Background etc, it remained coloured waves on a dark background.
What else do you suggest I try?

You could try editing the colours...
I clicked on Waeform Foreground. Open the Colour Picker and play around with it (drag that little ball in the window around) until you've achieved what you want. Save the result as a preset.

Thanks for the reply and the screenshot, but (as I said) that does not work.
Maybe it's just me or maybe it's common but editing those colours does exactly nothing and has no effect on the display.
I accept that is what SHOULD happen but nothing actually changes when you alter those colours boxes.

It's just you, I suspect - as evidenced by my screenshot above...
And this is on a PC, not a Mac. What are you using?

Let's leave it at you suspecting I'm an idiot, shall we?
I've been using various Adobe software for over 25 years but obviously I can't tell when software isn't doing what it should.

That's the reason I asked whether it was a Mac or a PC - I can only verify that it works fine on a PC.
