I found very little online information about which control surfaces are compatible with Audition, but recently purchased a Presonus Fader Port 2 for use with audition but I found it didn' function despite Adobe's claims and with no help from Presonus. The guys at Gear4Music were great and swapped it over for a Begringer X Touch Compact. This is a more sophisticated control surface but it works seamlessly with Audition and with hardly any set up. It' salmost plug and play. The x Touch is a great bit of kit and combined with Audition it's a very powerful way of working with audio.

You aren't the first person to observe this, but it is a bit odd about the FaderPort. In Audition's controller options there's an entry specifically for the FaderPort. So that doesn't work? Hmm...
The Behringer is fine though, as you've discovered, and way better than any of those apps that give you a virtual remote display. When I tried one of those with Audition I found that because you were constantly having to avert your eyes to it to get your fingers in the right place, it was more trouble than managing without. Real tactile controls definitely the way to go, I'd say.

Hey there,
I reed in other forum that with X-touch compact you can use only 8 faders or another problem is change between banks of faders, is this true? Did you have any problem like that? or do you have any problem with the X-touch compact?
I'm so sorry, at the same form like you I want to bought a control surface but nobody say if you can use one exclusive for Audition.
I bought an AKAI but I never can to use it with Audition, this product sucks.

The presonus actualy does work the instructions given by adobe and presonus just arent complete at all. You have to reset the faderport to mackie and logic protocols by first turning on the faderport while holding the right next button afterwards hit arm not mute as some people have instructed goes straight to the logic protocols after open adobe go to preferences and control surface pick mackie then logic and for input output presonus v2 after that you will be set hope this helps I almost got a refund cause I so pissed I thought adobe lied about the compatibility. Hope it helps keep creating guys.
