Hi all
My Win10 laptop suffered an improper shutdown, and went into automatic repair, from which it couldn't recover - I think the User Account Control became corrupted. System restore points wouldn't work, and the only way I could boot to Windows again was by selecting the option to reinstall Windows whilst keeping all my personal files - I knew this would overwrite my Programs and AppData folders, but had no other choice but to go ahead.
So this meant I had to reinstall Audition, along with every other program/app I use. Once complete, I loaded Audition and my workplaces and some settings are all automatically in place, because these are all saved in the Creative Cloud, but my precious custom Effects Racks are all gone, along with my keyboard shortcuts
Before I remake them (sob) is there no way to get these back? And if not, how come Effects Rack and keyboard shortcuts aren't stored in CC, like other settings?
Many thanks
They are all stored in the Audition's Settings folder. However if this wasn't backed up and you reinstalled Audition then they will have been overwritten with the default I'm afraid. Effects Racks if used as part of a Multitrack session should have been saved within the .sesx sesssion file. You can check for Audition's settings in "C:\Users\"Username"\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Audition\12.0. Checking the dates of the .xml files will show if any of your old custom settings still exist. Also if you we

Also if you were running an earlier version 11 of Audition you may still have those settings in their respective 11.0 folder.

Thanks for reply ryclark.
Unfortuantely, I had to reinstall Windows, so didn't get a chance to back up Audition's Settings folder, which also means my previous Audition installs are gone as well. I've poked around in a few Multitrack sessions to see if my main voiceover effects rack is present in any of them, but as I generally record and edit in the single track Waveform editor, and add my effects rack from there, unfortunately its not. So it seems my effects rack is lost forever and I need to recreate it
Also need to reprogram all my keyboard shortcuts.
Would be ideal if these things were all saved in Creative Cloud - is there any reason why this is not possible or preferable?
I do have backups, but they are too old to be useable, I've changed too many things since the last backup. All my WAV files are auto-backed up to OneDrive as soon as they are saved, along with the rest of My Documents folder, and since I've been using that method, I haven't been keeping on top of regular full hard drive backups - which would have helped me out here.
Remember to back up kids! And Adobe, please backup our settings for us!

There is a Feature Request for Audition to be able to easily backup the settings folder to the Creative Cloud and anywhere else that the user might want. You could possibly help to move it further up the request list by going to Audition: Hot (415 ideas) – Adobe video & audio apps

Thanks ryclark
To anyone else that might think settings should be syncable to the Creative Cloud for Audition (like it is for Premiere) then here is the vote:
Include "Synchronize Settings" Option as in Premiere CC – Adobe video & audio apps
And maybe this one as well:
Synchronize all user preferences and presets via Creative Cloud – Adobe video & audio apps
