Which version of Audition?  What exactly happens when you attempt to extract the tracks from a CD?  Any error message?

I'm still using Audition CS6 and Extract Audio from CD always works without any problem; I know that's no consolation to you!

Works OK for me on a Win 7 64 PC with CC 2017. Can you give an example of a CD title that doesn't extract correctly in Audition?

Just a thought...are all the CDs standard Blue Book "Music CDs"?

A lot of CD players these days will playback CD-ROMs with MP3 files so if you have any of these, the "Extract Audio From CD" function won't find your files.

However, if this is the case, you can simply use the "Open" feature and treat the CD drive like any other drive holding files.

Blue book ones? Those are the E-CD standard, and I'm pretty sure that Audition should be able to open the audio part of them. And they're comparatively rare. The normal audio standard is Red Book, and it should be able to open those without difficulty.

Dang, I knew that.  This is about the 4th time I've said "Blue Book" when I mean "Red Book".  I seem to have a mental block.

However, my main point is still that, while a lot of CD players (including the one in my car) will play a CD ROM full of MP3 files, you need a different command to open these in Audition.

I'll throw in one other thought...the CD Drive in my laptop failed about six months ago and the first symptom I had was that Audition wouldn't read from it or write to it even though it stayed useful in Windows Media Player for a few weeks longer.  However, it very quickly died entirely and had to be replaced.

You are suffering from audio colour blindness Bob. However all of the above was the reason for me asking for an example title in my last post.
