How do you fade in and fade out of multiple clips in the same track. And how can you set the amount of fade that is used?

Thanks!

You can only do this where the clips are orthogonally aligned, so they can't be in the same track; they have to be stacked up. If only one end of each of the clips is aligned, then it will only work at that point. How do you do it? You make multiple selections of the clips you want to fade (click on them with Ctrl held down), and then select one to do the fade drag on - that will pick up the fade and apply it to the other selected tracks at that point. I wish I could tell you which clip it's going to be that adjusts the others, but I haven't worked out the rule for that. All I know is that if they remain selected, then one of them will, and it will be obvious. You set the amount of fade by dragging the fade icon along the track. Moving it up and down as you drag it will alter the characteristic of the curve. To align the tracks, it helps a lot if you have 'snap to clips' selected.

Thanks for your reply. I am aware of this procedure but I am looking for an easier way. I am editing a podcast and it's on one track and there are a thousand clips. Sure would be nice to "select all" and then hit a button to fade in and fade out of each clip. It is insane I have to go through and fade each of these clips.

Nope! it looks like you can’t do it. You would have to separate all the
clips on different tracks to do it.
