File menu completely disabled (grayed out) for all open files

This is super-weird. I cannot save, open, close, or reveal any of the files I have open. I was about to edit a file, decided to load up the last crash and save it. Saved the crash file, but opened a wav next. Now nothing will save. Almost the entire file menu is grayed out. Thought at first it was because the crash was missing files but it still applies to other files I have open. None can be saved. I have never seen this behavior before and I've used Audition since it was a thing.

As you can see, all file operations are disabled. Shortcuts don't work. Right-click menu is the same. Applies to all files, multitrack and single-lane.

If you close Audition, open a new session, put some actual files in it rather than placeholders, does it save correctly? This has the hallmarks of a screwed session file...
