While editing a multitrack file I need to quickly rewind to the beginning and In point, resp., to be able to compare two tracks.

For this I'd usually use the keyboard shortcuts <HOME> or <Q> (on my Windows machine). However, none of them work during playback.

Is there an option in Audition that's activating playhead keyboard shortcuts during playback?

The only keyboard shortcuts that I am aware of that allow you to jump about the audio file whilst playing back are the Cntrl+Left/Right cursor keys. As do the Q and W shortcuts for the In/Out points. But, unfortunately, not whilst Playback is active. So you always have to do a Stop/Start to re-position playback.

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but on a Mac, you can use function + R/L arrow keys to move directly to the beginning or the end of a multitrack session.

Doesn't work on the OP's PC, but Home and End do. More fingers required on the Mac version...
