Let me move this to the Audition forum for you, where you are more likely to receive an answer to your question.
The Community Help forum is for help in using the Adobe Support Community forums, not for help with specific programs. Product questions should be posted in the associated product community.

You need Ses2sesx - but these days you can only get it from the Adobe exchange site. So from within Audition, go to Window>Find Extensions on Exchange. And now you have to pay for it, I'm afraid - back when this was a major issue it was donationware, but unfortunately that didn't work very well...

Yep delighted
I have just emailed requesting them to remove it from their site
This just supports why donationware doesn't work

Donationware may not work for you, but $49 for this novelty software doesn't work for me. I'd gladly pay a reasonable (donationware) fee to convert the 3 ses files that I have to convert. $49 isn't reasonable though, and it's honestly confusing (not to mention insulting) that Adobe is reducing people to pay to convert files from their own software in the first place. This makes no sense. I'm sorry, but that's a racket.

But you see, if you'd looked into this a little more carefully, you'd find that the author of the software deals far more sympathetically with people who have 'small' conversion jobs to do. I rather suspect that you've blown it, though...

Thanks for your response, Steve, and it's nice to hear that the creator is typically generous in these situations. That said, I don't wish to take up his time by sending him my ses files anyway. After all, he's already kinda taken one for the team by creating the software - he shouldn't have to fix things on Adobe's behalf in the first place. Which is part of the point here honestly.
Imagine if Microsoft were to charge $50 for people to open doc files once docx became a thing....people naturally might be a little miffed? The fact that this is the *only* available solution is wild, and I've not come across an explanation as to why Adobe simply left people high and dry. It's a fair and valid point I'd say, coming from a faithful customer who has paid Adobe many thousands of dollars over the years, that's all...

Email me the 3 ses files - PM me for the address (just note that it ia 1:45am here)
Don't be hard on Adobe - most version of ses covered by the application actually had nothing to do with Adobe - they actually existed long before Adobe got hold of Cool Edit and turned it into Audition.
In fact the app actually covers versions of ses that were literally unknown to Adobe and even Syntrillium (David Johnston I believe actually issued one or two undocumented versions of CEP)
Believe it or not Adobe were never in a position to cover all known and unknown variants of the ses format and convert them to the sesx format as well as come up with the resources to develop what was then Audition v5.
I'm sure that the fact that my software already existed probably assisted in helping speed up the release of Audition 5
BTW just for some comparison - ProTools can't read its real old versions either but I have software to cover that too 😉

Just have to chime in here and say that if you've got quite a few files to convert, this app is amazing! We licensed it for a radio group I work for and I've converted TONS of old commercial sessions with great results! Not perfect every time depending on so many factors, but it's been a HUGE help! I'm going to purchase it for my personal machine because I'm constantly going back to old sessions these days.
