Hi all.
I upgraded from Cool Edit Pro to Audition 1.0 and then 3.0 a long time ago.
I have re-installed the software and now I can't find the 3.0 serial number.
However, I do have the 1.0 serial number.
Customer services have been unable to help, although they have supplied me with a serial number for CS3 Master Collection, but it excludes Audition.
I contacted customer services again and they have told me they can't help as it is such an old product and they have directed me to these forums.
I was running 3.0 on an old Windows 7 Professional 32-bit P.C., so I can't update to the latest subscription-based version of Audition as that requires a 64-bit P.C.
Any help and advice appreciated.
Thanks.
Chris.

It wouldn't do you any good, even if you did find it; the activation server was switched off seven years ago. At one stage, there was a free download of Audition 3 with a serial number that you had to use, and that worked fine for most people. At some stage recently though the link (given in our FAQ) disappeared, and I have no idea whether it's still available at all. It might be; the updates and patches for it certainly are, but at present there's no download link available - unless somebody else knows where it's gone...

Oh dear. Then it looks like AA3 has really gone for good then. ![]()

Yes - and there's a blog post about it here:

Thanks everyone for your help.
It's disappointing that I now can't re-install Audition 3.0 without a serial number when I have been using it for so long.
I've even tried a system restore - Audition 3.0 was re-installed but will not function.
I also can't update to the latest version as it requires a 64-bit P.C., and I'm using a 12-year old P.C. running Windows 7 Professional.
Is there anyway I can get an Audition version that will run on a 32-bit P.C., or is time for me to buy a new computer?
Regards.
Chris.

Unfortunately it seems not since only the two latest versions of Audition CC will be available and they both require 64 bit operating systems.

It looks like a new computer for me then.
I'm sure the downloaded installation file I have is for the "free" upgrade for Audition 3 that Adobe offered licensed users a few years ago.
This needed a special serial number that only worked with that version.
All I need is that serial number, which I do not appear to have noted down at the time I downloaded the file.
Regards.
Chris.

The chances are that somebody who has it will PM it to you, with a bit of luck.

Thanks Steve - now that would be good!

It would indeed. Many (many) smaller, community radio stations still use Audition 3.0, and losing access to this is - as I've discovered today when trying to install it on a new computer - going to mean losing access to loads and loads of old files.
If anyone did happen to have the relevant serial number, I'm sure a lot of people (me included) would love to see it.

The serial number alone won't reactivate your version of AA3. You also needed to have downloaded the AA3 installation file that doesn't need activation. In which case you would also have had access to the required serial number.
In what way would users be losing access to 'loads and loads of old files'? If you are referring to .ses session files then https://www.aatranslator.com.au/ses2sesx.html is available.

In post 6 the OP reckons he's got the download, but misplaced the serial number.

My reply was @MatSims not @christopher who we had already replied to.
Look wayback at the machine, and you'll find what I'm on about.
Not really quite sure what that means? ![]()

He's being deliberately cryptic. Put both of the key words into a search engine, and you'll find out what he's on about...

ses2sesx is a (relatively expensive) paid application. I can guarantee that the organisations I have in mind, who we should remember are still using CS2 (16 year old) software because it's cheap/free, aren't paying for ses2sesx.
That said, there is an easy solution. Look wayback at the machine, and you'll find what I'm on about.
