Hi folks,
I own a Mackie ProFX8V2 and tried to set it up with Audition and Premiere Pro (latest CC versions). Unfortunately, I have no idea how. I read the official guidelines on how to set up external fader controllers but this hasn't been working so far.
I added "Mackie" to the devices, then went into settings, but there was no "midi-device" detected.
I know that the mic that is connected to my Mackie is detected since I can record sound from it directly to Audition and Premiere Pro.
Is the Mackie ProFX8V2 not fully compatible? Or did I just set it up incorrectly?
Having had a very quick look at the Mackie pages about your mixer, I think you're out of luck, unfortunately!
Fader control relies on MIDI connection between your computer and your mixer. Such connections can be via either 5 pin DIN socket or USB. In the case of your mixer it has no DIN sockets (that I can see) and the USB is audio-only, not MIDI.
So it cannot act as a control surface with Audition or Premier Pro, sorry.

Oh that is bad. Thank you for the clarification. Do you have any recommendations for a mixer/usb interface for both Audition and Premiere?

You already have the mixer and audio interface as far as audio is concerned with your ProFX8V2 mixer. If you want to use Mackie Control to work faders and start and stop Audition/Premiere then you need to look for a MIDI Fader controller such as a Korg nanoKontrol. However if you want a real Mackie fader controller it will cost you around $1,000 or more.

ryclark, thanks for the info. After some more research I came to a similar conclusion.
I found the Presonius Faderport 8 and the Icon Platform M and they look like they work with most daws so maybe Audition as well.
