Quantize Feature

Dear Adobe - Please tell me that you're adding the Quantize feature to Audition. I've been a loyal user for years. I need this feature however. It's available on other DAWs and it's essential to my work. I'm running the 60-day trial on Reaper right now and if I don't get a positive response here I will be switching - and I don't want to switch. The audio pre-render and multi-core support seems vastly superior as well, FYI in case you haven't done a competitive analysis lately. I'll gladly assist you if you wish to have a real user help with the analysis. Thanks and you can reach me at kwslhs at yahoo dot you know what. Cheers. - Kent

I'm intrigued - how exactly would you like quantising to work on an audio-only editor?

It's used to synchronize - eg - snare, kick and bass. Other DAWs (Reaper for one) have the feature.

It's esp useful when you mic everything. With MIDI, you don't need help syncing.

With Reaper, you can change the BPM on a project and everything plays correctly.

That's the thing - Audition isn't really what you might think of as a DAW as such, and that's certainly not the direction its development has taken. That's towards the world of video, where this sort of thing isn't an issue. You may be better off sticking with Reaper. The other thing is that Audition isn't 'competitive' as such; the main idea these days is to optimise integration with the rest of the CC apps.

I've been a heavy user of Audtion for a couple years now. I've used it to record, mix and master a 5-song commercial EP. I like to think that I get what Audition is. I'm not sure what your notion of a DAW is, but as a multitrack session editor, this function is bang-on appropriate and has zero to do with video. I do get that integrating with other aps and not competing with Pro Tools is their focus.
