I am beyond dissapointed with Adobe Audition. On several accounts, when I've gone to open an .sesx file that I have previously worked on, I'm unable to retrieve any of it because I get an error message that reads "an error was encountered during the conforming process: Unable to read or decode this file." I have to start the entire process over again. Yesterday I worked with technical support for over two hours until they finally gave up and said they don't know what the problem is. Any suggestions? I'm so fed up with Audition.

Hopefully SuiteSpot will notice this thread - he's the go-to on session file difficulties.

Well the thread's fairly high up on the list again now, and he's still around. If he doesn't notice it this time, I'll prompt him. And I took the liberty of modifying the thread title to make it stand out a bit... 😉

I just began to have a similar problem, do we have a fix yet or do you need my file as well?

Hi all, I am getting a similar error message for certain files I am importing into Audition, all of them mp3s, but only some of them result in the error, and they also say (partial) next to the file:
Anyone know why by this time? I hope so...

The same 3 files are giving me issues in Premiere as well - so now I wonder what might be different for those files? These are all voice recordings from the same artist...

We would really need to get hold of at least one of those mp3 files to see what is going on with them

What is the best way for me to share them? The help would be much appreciated!
Those files do play if I just preview them with media player...

Thank you. I'll send some files later on, it would be helpful to know what the differences are and why only some of the files generate errors.
A fix that I found online though, was to rename the audio extension from .mp3 to .wav, and then those files opened without an issue...

You would be surprised at the range of files I come across that malformed or incorrectly created by all sorts of software and hardware

Did this ever get any leads? Just started having the same issue as FrancoisK

I suspect that if you run it through an FFMPEG as whatever the format it was, it could correct it and allow Audition to open it. I've done this in versions previous, and it's always worked.
