Where, exactly, are those files saved?  If you are using cloud storage for them it is more than likely that connection to the cloud server has been lost, hence the message.

 

If you are using cloud storage the advice here is always to first download them all to your computer and then work on them.

 

If the files are being saved locally, are they on an internal or external (e.g., USB) drive?  Is the drive "working properly"?
