For some reason Audition is no longer playing audio when I scrub through a paused file. It will work if I stop the file, however this makes editing a little clunkier than I would like. Does anybody know of any fixes or a setting I might have accidentally turned off?

Edit>Preferences>Playback and make sure there's a check in 'Play audio while scrubbing'. Not sure how you would have turned this off though unless you did it deliberately - there's no preset keystroke for this unless you set one up and forgot about it... 😉

Thanks Steve, yes, the box was checked I tried rebooting as well no joy at all. The only thing I've done differently in the last few days is add a new interface I'm not sure if that might be the source of my problem

It depends on what the interface is, and what driver it's using. Ideally, if you are using an external interface it should come with an ASIO driver, and that's the one you should be using - it bypasses most of the operating system, and it's the fundamental language that Audition speaks. Unfortunately not all devices have it available though... So what is it?
There is another slightly darker possibility. There have been a few reports recently about sound either suddenly or gradually stopping during playback, and there's an outside possibility that it could be related to this. But this is an embryonic bug, and still being chased; also it appears to involve the user interface being interrupted, and that could easily make it Microsoft's fault. Have any updates run recently?

I'm using a Scarlett 4i4, with ASIO driver defaults selected. I last updated on Wednesday, before I had installed the interface and I don't think I was having the issue then. I may try rolling back and see if that helps.
