Help! I recorded a podcast back in January using multitrack I believe. I have the ses file saved and have two back ups, but when I open it up, it says it is 3:42:322 long (I think that's 3 hours, 42 minutes right? Or is that 3 minutes 42 seconds and 322 milliseconds?). But even though it has length, there is absolutely no audio in it from when I recorded. It's not a hardware issue. Literally looks like it's just nothingness. We definitely played it back after recording it back in January and there was originally sound. See the screenshot to see what I'm talking about.
Did I have to export the file as a mp3 or wav in order to retain the recording I made within the ses? Like, would it have stored my recordings in a temporary location then deleted?
Any help would be appreciated. Really hoping it's not gone for good. 😞

Session files don't contain any audio - that's not their purpose. All they contain is information about how to play the audio that they reference, and that's stored separately, wherever you specified when you made the recording. What you have is an empty session, and possibly unlinked audio (although we can't tell from your screenshot). You should have recieved a warning when you saved the session about the audio not being in the folder with it - did you not get one, or have you switched the warnings off? (not a good idea.)

I didn't switch warnings off and didn't get any warnings when I opened it. I'm sure I clicked the record button within Audition back in January. Perhaps it auto-saved before we recorded and I forgot to save before closing, assuming it was going to auto-save? All the other recordings I've made on Audition have appeared in my recordings folder. Just not this one for some reason.

Email me the ses file (info at aatranslator dot com dot au) and I will have a look what the ses is referencing internally
