not time stretch, not the pitch change presets... I want to change the speed of a clip by a specific percentage over time... Audition can't seem to do it from all I can see online.. is this true?
Audacity is FREE and can do it and a few other things Audition can't do... time for Adobe to wake up.

Just found out there was an update for Premiere and installed it... Premiere will still ramp video (although the method it uses is garbage) yet it can't ramp audio at all... I edit the clip in Audition, but Audition can't even ramp the speed the way I want it to either...
Audacity did the job in 1 minute, if I only knew Audacity was superior I could have not only saved the time fumbling with Audition, then looking unsuccessfully for a way to do it online (which does't exist). Now I'm wasting even more time doing Adobe's job for them by telling them what they need to do correctly.... I shouldn't bother.
Time to go down the drain Adobe.

Also if you need to change speed over time, which is what I presume you to mean by 'ramp', then you can set a start and end percentage stretch if you use the Audition algorithm.

hey that's interesting... just tried it, and it doesn't work worth a ****
seems to slow a clip down you raise the percentage of it (????)
if I change a clip in premiere to start at 100% and end at 75% on the last frame, then match that (100 to 75%) in Audacity, it will match the video clip. In Audition using this initial and final stretch changing the final percentage to 75 does nothing from what I hear... I changed the final pitch to something like 700% to get close to what it should sound like, only it sounded really bad.
So, it stands... Audition can't effectively ramp speed.

Well for me on my Win 7 system Audition does exactly what is intended. Remember that we are talking about 'Stretch' in Audition. So yes if you increase the percentage of Stretch the audio will slow down in speed and get longer. If you reduce Stretch, ie. Shrink, the audio takes less time and will, therefore be quicker. In Premiere are you slowing down the speed of the images when you say 75%?
What exact effect are you using in Audacity to do the 'ramp'? Are you expecting the pitch to change as well as the speed? If so maybe Audition is being cleverer than Audacity by speeding up the audio without changing the pitch.

You guys said stretch was how you do it...
funny to see that you users of the program that doesn't do this also don't seem to understand it.
the speed ( and yess the pitch) should change if you change the speed of a clip..
in free software that anyone can get this is how easy it is...
this will now match a video clip made in Premiere with that same keyframes.

Hey Ryclark, found this response a year late, but want to say that your advice is what's got me started learning the ropes of Audition. The ability to do this has been endlessly useful (in trying to transition from Audacity to Audition, so I can get the most from my Adobe subscription).
Cheers.
