I have a podcast, and recently, when applying my workflow (simple normalizing, compression, etc.) to my recording (~40:00 in duration), an effect that usually takes seconds to apply takes many minutes. It gets up to about 35% within a second or two, then stalls out, and the Time Remaining begins to count up from seconds to minutes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Audition, cleared my cache, and tried all the usual tricks.

I am having the same problem and am struggling to figure out why. I use Audition every week to edit about 55 mins of audio for a radio show. When I first got some help setting everything up and working out which effects to apply and how to match loudness etc, it seemed like the effects would take seconds to a few minutes to apply. Then one day everything started taking 30+ minutes to apply, despite me having made no changes to my usual process. I've even just started using a newer, more powerful laptop, and am having the exact same issues!
Every now and again, an effect will process really quickly (as it used to), but there doesn't seem to be any consistency in when this happens. I'm using a work laptop, so perhaps there are programmes running behind the scenes using up all my computer resources... but I'd be surprised, since I often only have Audition, File Explorer and Edge open when working.
Please help!
