I am now getting a can't write to disk error in audition on my work computer (PC CC2015) and my personal lap top (PC CC2019). So there is not a chance this a hardware problem.

What are you doing in Audition when these write errors appear? What devices are you attempting to write to when these errors show up? Since you say PC presumably you are on a Windows operating system of some vintage?

My Laptop is two months old, windows 10 with an intel i7 processor and 16 gigs of ram, this should be adequate. I thought perhaps there was an indexing issue with the ss drive, It has occurred while working in multi track, while trying to reduce noise, pretty much while working, not saving. VERY annoying. I have to save and close. Occasionally it is corrupting files on the lap top, but I use it more than the desktop. Today I tried to adjust noise on my work computer which is also windows 10 intel i7 with 8 gigs of ram. The desk top runs 3.4 mhz. and the same thing happened this morning. There is no connection between the two machines nor any shared files. ~bb.

Fine, but you haven't told us anything definitive about how you're using the drives. Is this storage on the machines concerned or on a remote drive?

audition is using the internal storage on both machines.

How have you got the temporary file locations set up? Limited space in the primary temp can cause problems if you try to store too many undo's. Typically this happens if you have a separate partition set up on a drive, with only a limited size.

Both machines are new. I never changed the save setting from the defaults. In fact, I have only used my work computer twice. The disk failure is happening faster than the default 10 minutes.

Okay, what actually happens when you get this failure? Does Audition crash? Even if it doesn't, it would be useful to see the last stored log reports. You can find more information about this here: Audition Crashed. Now what?
