Question

2024 not fully uninstalled after update to 2025 on Windows 11

I'm running low on space, and would like to be able to fully uninstall 2024 which is taking up 1.7+GB on my drive...

I've tried many different ways to remove it, without success...

I don't really want to have to rebuild Windows, but am thinking it's going to be the only way to resolve it...

Hi, @nickw7coc. As a Mac user, I cannot begin to help you complete an application uninstall. However, if a small 1.7 GB item on your computer is necessary, that's only a small part of your problem. For Photoshop, for example, to run properly, you need a lot more free space than 1.7 GB.

Most people (and I'm not saying you're "most people") have too many images, songs, movies, etc. on their hard drive. These can be removed (and not lost) by moving them to an external hard drive (and a 2nd hard drive for backup purposes of the first hard drive is strongly recommended). If you're running out of space because of too many applications, consider getting a larger hard drive for your computer.

Good luck

Thanks for your reply, I do have a regular backup routine which moves
folders to a RAID, and regularly clear out the dross from the drive, I also
have uninstalled all unused software, it's just that I have taken so many
images that I still am having space troubles with my 500GB drive... and
that 1.7GB will make all the difference...

Ok.

Yesterday I had time to dig through all the folders properly, and found the cause of the problem...

In 2023 I had done some stacking of images, and the temporary files had been retained in the temporary cache, as well as copied when upgrading to 2024...

All safely deleted and 17GB recovered, along with a similar amount after digging through other software that had done similarly...

One day te programmers will get there...

Sounds like you are back on track then.

I would still save my pocket money for a larger drive though!
