Adobe Bridge 2023 is impossible to quit

Hi, @Koos Marais Ever since the new Bridge was released several weeks ago, these boards have been filled with folks having issues. This is the first I've seen on this issue. I know on my Mac Studio I'm not seeing this at all.

Under the rule of finger-pointing: if a lot of people are having a similar issue, the problem is probably in the software; if an extremely limited of people are having the problem, it's probably something with their system software and/or system. Right now, you are the only person to report this.

Let's see if we can try a variety of things to see if we can resolve this.

Easy try #1) Rebuild your Bridge's Preferences: 

Quit Bridge (if running). Just before clicking on Bridge in the Dock or double-clicking the application for the Mac, press Command-Option-Shift. For PCs, press Control-Alt-Shift. Then open Bridge BUT KEEP your fingers on those keys until you see a window pop up. From the window, choose “Reset Preferences," "Entire Thumbnail Cache,” and/or "Reset Standard Workspaces.” In your case, choose "Reset Preferences."

Now see if the problem continues to exist.

If it does, then try #2 COMPLETELY uninstall (including any Preferences) and then reinstall Bridge.

Now see if the problem continues to exist.

A bit more work, try #3) There are two very good Mac System maintenance applications, one is free, the other has a minimal charge. FWIW, I've been paying the "paid" one for years because it got me out of a big jam years ago.

Thus, with the new Ventura system, this product is now called Ventura Cache Cleaner. It will work on older systems, but this is now updated for the new systems. As updates to the system are released, you may have to occasionally update this app. There is no charge for these updates — only when there is a new Mac OS with a new name is there ever an update charge.

I've never done a back-to-back cross-check with these applications because once the problem is "fixed," it's not possible to see if the other one can fix it better/faster/slicker.

FWIW, any time my system is doing something "not right," I run one or the other of these applications. Nonetheless, whatever issue you are having, I extremely doubt it's due to an Adobe issue. Rather, it does seem to be manifesting itself in Bridge.

Now see if the problem continues to exist.
