Question

adobe bridge 24 crazy slow

The latest version of Bridge is has become very slow.

What settings should I have or use to make it as fast as possible.

Example of what is going slow:

I have a folder with 1000 images. 200 are labeled.

I want to select all images with a label.

After checking the red label left in the filterbox I have to wait sometimes more than 10 to 15 seconds before something happens....

It wasn't like that before....

using windows 11 (before the last adobe updates everything was working fine)

Help me, this has to change!

Thanks!

New version of Bridge isn't just slow, it often just stops any progress on whatever task it is performing, worst version of Bridge I've ever used. I've already lost hours of productivity and I'm giving up, super slow and buggy AF... I'm deinstalling and going back to the previous version of Bridge until they get their $hit together.

Update:

Just found out this:

If the folder is on my pc or an attached hard drive it works fine and fast (enough)

But I work from a NAS. Is that considered a network? All my work on Nas is really slow to work with.

BUT...having said this: It was all working fine before the udate. My hardware or set up hasn't changed. The onlything changed is Adobe....

Hi, @Gregiori, I recently gave a similar response to someone else:

Bridge was never designed to work with servers/NAS. It was designed to work with connected drives. If you look up the prices for what you want Bridge to do, you will find the cost of such applications to be amazingly high. Many people cannot get Bridge to work with servers/NAX at all, so if you were getting reasonable success before or partial success now, consider yourself lucky.

I wish I could give you hope for the future, but considering that Bridge is a free application, the chances are not strong.

Best and good luck!

Thanks Gary,

I read your comment on a similar topic aswell.

Knowing not too much about computers and networks etc, for me the Nas is just a harddrive just not sitting next to my pc but sitting in the next room...

And it was working fine, just like all other harddrives next to my PC.  Really had no problems with it the last couple years.

Just a pity that whilst trying to improve Bridge somehow things that work get damaged.

And maybe I don't pay exclusively for Bridge, I do pay for Photoshop.

I would be willing to pay for Bridge too, especially if some functions would be implemented.

And if you happen to bump into one of adobes technical whizzkids tweaking all the software can you please mention the issue? And if they don't seem to care feel free to block them in the hallway, bribe them, if you have dirt on them blackmail them...you know, the usual pressure!  😉

Thanks!

Ah, were that possible, I would (for this and many other issues that creep up). Alas, I do not work for Adobe; I'm one of the "not paid" folks who wander through these forum halls, helping those who need help the best I can. Sorry.
