I currently am using Adobe Bridge 2019. It works fine except it doesn't always show all the thumbnail images in a folder and shows only a generic jpg place holder. I was in the process of switching to Adobe Bridge 2024. Problem: Some of the keywords I added in the 2019 version don't appear in the keyword list in the 2024 version. Surpisingly, these missing keywords do show below the inage in the 2024 version but not in the keyword list. Any help with either of these problems would be appreciated i.e.:
1. How to get all images to appear in the 2019 version and not just the generic placeholder.
2. How to get the 2024 version to recognize new keywords added in the 2019 version and add them to the keyword list.
Thanks,
Bob

In relation to point 1, check that you have a suitably large value set in Preferences>Thumbnails>Do Not Process Files Larger Than...
For point 2, can you clarify what you mean by, "... these missing keywords do show below the image" ?

When i look at an image in 2024 version, it shoes a key word which i recently added in the 2019 version. Howver, the key word does NOT show up in the key word list in the 2024 version.

I am still not clear where you are seeing these keywords.
If you have the Keywords Panel open then any keywords which have been assigned to selected images will be be checked in the keywords list. Expand the entire list if you have them organised into Keyword and Sub-Keyword categories then you should see them.
If an assigned keyword is not in your keywords list then it will appear italicised under the heading "Other Keywords" at the foot of the keywords list. Such keywords may be dragged from there into a suitable position in the main list and made persistent.
I would highly recommend that you regularly export your keywords using the provided menu then, should you "lose" them they can be be reinstated from your saved list.

Hi Erik,
Thank you for the suggestions.
1. I checked the thumbnail preferences and the size is larger than most of the images showing the thumbnail placeholder.
2. I added several new keywords to images using the 2019 version. When I open Bridge 2024, these new keywords are attached to the images to which they have been assigned. However, these new keywords are NOT in the keyword list in 2024. They also do not show up in Other Keywords in the list.
I have a very recent computer running Mac Sonoma and have plenty of RAM. This is baffling to me.

How are you adding new keywords and how do you know that they have been assigned to images? I am still not sure where you are seeing them if they are not visible in the Keywords Panel. They simply must show up under Other Keywords if they have been assigned correctly. Do you have Keywords set to show in the Metadata Panel? That is possibly the best place to look to see which keywords are assigned to images.
Do you have Bridge 2019 and 2024 simultaneously installed? If so, you can physically copy the keywords file from one to the other from the Application Data folder. Unfortunately, as a Windows user, I cannot direct you to the precise location.
As for thumbnails still not showing, try purging the cache for the problematic images so that the thumbnails are rebuilt.

Hi Erik,
The new keywords were added to images in Bridge 2019. Theses keywords show up in the keywords list and under each image assigned the new keywords in Bridge 2019. When I close 2019 and open Bridge 2024, the new keywords show up under each image. However, the new keywords DO NOT show up in the keywords panel.
For the thumbnails. I'll try purging the cache for the thumbnails and see if that helps.
Thank you for your suggestions.
