Black borders on thubnails.

I have scanned over 1000 slides and some have black borders. I can fix that easily in Bridge, but I can't see the border because there is black behind each thumbnail. Is there a way to change that so can easily pick them out?

How were they scanned (what brand/model # scanner and how were the slides held in position)? What software was used to run the scanner?

Can you supply a screenshot to show what you are talking about?
