BRAW support on Bridge

Is there any way to make Bridge display previews and, most importantly, actualy play BRAW files? One would think they've had enough time (a couple of years now) to sort this out...

Normally it should. As long as PR does support the BRAWV format AND the OS file browsers do display thumbnails both Finder and File Explorer, so should a media based browser Bridge...

I cannot say for sure but I'd guess that the operative word is "never."

 

I had to look it up (as I've not heard of BRAW files before this but I'm not involved in any video work) and found this:

I think the problem is that BlackMagic cameras have not yet gotten to any form of critical mass to make it worth it to Adobe to do the reverse engineering required to make them function in Adobe software. 

 

BlackMagic has proprietary software (just as Nikon, Canon, and many other cameras) so to get past that Adobe needs to reverse engineer the image's datafile to get the content. That requires time and (well you know), time is money. So for Adobe to do this, it would require more people using BMs cameras.
