Bridge 13.0.2 won't open on MacBookPro M1 Max

Hello. I purchased a MacBookPro 16.2" M1 Max (late 2021 model). I am running Ventura 13.1 OS. I've updated all my Creative Cloud Apps and cannot open Bridge 2023; instead I get the message "Adobe Bridge 13.0.2 won't open. The operation could not be completed. A write permission error has occurred." I cannot find anything current on adobe's forum. Can you help, please? Mark

Could you please check if the following folder has write permissions?

/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge 2023.

If not, please give this folder and every item inside this folder write permission.

Please let us know if that resolves the issue for you.

I'm having the same problem after a fresh install of Photoshop and Bridge on a 2014 iMac, running macOS 11.7.6. Bridge fails to open, with message: "The operation could not be completed. A write permission error has occurred." The folder described in the previous message does not exist.

I am also seeing a problem in Photoshop. It opens JPG files, but fails to open Nikon raw (NEF) files. Error message: "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file."

I had PS CS6 installed on this Mac before, and deleted all Adobe files years ago. This is my first install of CC (Photography 20GB plan). Is this install damaged? Do I need to delete all and try again?

Thank you for reaching out to us. Could you please give read/write permissions to the following folder

~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge <version>

e.g.

~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge 2023

This error comes when Bridge doesn't have sufficient permissions on the above mentioned folder.

Please do let us know if that resolves the issue for you.

Thanks for replying Rahul. The problem was more extensive than originally reported. The CC installer placed the current versions of Photoshop 2023 and Bridge 2023 on my 2014 iMac. This software is apparently incompatible, according to an Adobe support agent that I contacted via the chat system. He and I spent appoximately an hour online, while he used remote access to uninstall over 20,000 files from, and then installed the last versions of Photoshop 2022 and Bridge 2022 that are compatible. I disabled auto-update, but CC still prompts me to update. This installer system should test the target for version compatibility. I suspect that there are many others who are affected by this.
