Bridge 2021 not recognising camera memory cards.

Explorer ,
Oct 29, 2020 Oct 29, 2020

Hi

I've recently dowloaded the updates to Photoshop, Bridge and ACR.

When inserting a camera ememory card into the computer the card can be seen in the Bridge folders but can't be opened. The card and its files can be access in Finder.

A similar situation seems to be happening with an external hard drive as well.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Bridge but the problem persists

Files that were already in thr system can be accessed in Canera Raw

I would appreciate any suggestions to fix this

regards

Peter

Go to your System Preferences and select Security and Privacy (found in the top section). Now click on the Privacy setting (last tab). Now click on the lock on the bottom left and provide your Administrator code. Now select the Full Disk Access option and click on the "+" symbol. This will bring up the standard Mac Open window and let you add any application you want or need to have full access. Look for Bridge, select it, it will now appear in that window and make sure it's checked. Next go to

Gary,

This does not work for me.

I have a Cfast2 card and Adobe Bridge 2019,2020 or 2021 does not work.

The reader works fine in MacOS Catalina as a ExFAT volume and it's formated by the camera (Canon EOS 1Dx Mk2)

I have rebooted the computer since changing the settings in Preferences as you suggested but to no avail.

Best regards,

Daniel

Thank you for the tip! I just updated my Photoshop & and Bridge to 2021 version. My Bridge 2021 couldn't detect anything from my Drobo hard disk. After following the steps, it works now.

Hi Christian,

Some questions:

- What is your OS (and what release)?

- What version of Bridge are you using (and what release)?

Also, you state "...I can no longer download..." That implies that you used to be able to do this. What happened between then and now? Was there a software update? If so, was it your OS and/or your Bridge/Adobe stuff?

Lastly, can you view your images from within your Finder/Explorer? That is, can you select and download the images from the card to your computer via the Finder/Explorer?

Sorry for all the questions,

J'utilise Bridge 2021 11.0.1.109.

Infortunately this does not work on 13.2, which was where most folk have the problem. The new version of Privacy and Security on OS 13 is a complete mass and simply is unworkable and useless. The old version worked perfectly well so why mess with it???

I am running Ventura 13.2.1 on a Macbook M1, the "Photo Downloader" was working before. This morning it stopped working, and it can't read any files from my SD cards. I am running Bridge 12.0.4 286 because Bridge 13 has an issue with the Workflow feature. Honestly, I am seriously considering moving to another tool for culling my photos, Bridge is highly unreliable with many glithes. BTW I only use BRIDGE to organize and select the photos that will end in my LT library, add metadata, and rename via a Workflow.

I hope someone has an answer

Thanks,

Alfredo

Just out of curiosity, in Photodownloader, are you looking at the Standard Dialog or the Advanced Dialog? (Button on the bottom left of the window.) If you're looking at one, please try the other (you may need to refresh the view in the "Get Photos From" dropdown window (top left).)

Gary

Both dialogs pop the same issue. I have done extensive testing, and it looks an update to Ventura cause this problem in Bridge. Tech support already informed is an issue on the product side.  I only used 3 features of Bridge in my daily work, and two of them are broken with the new release.

Thanks again, and sorry for the delay in my response

Alfredo
