I recently replaced Open Office with Libre Office. Even though I have the association for .doc / .docx files set in Windows to open with MS Office. When I do a simple open in Bridge (CS6) they keep opening wiht Libre Office. How can I get the open in Bridge back to where we open with MS Office?

In Bridge CS6 go to Edit>Preferences>File Type Associations to set MS Office to open .doc / .docx files from bridge.

I would love to do it this way, but the microsoft file types do not show up in the list so Bridge is apparently accessing them from some other place that I cannot access or see.

That's what I've done and Windows is recognizing the correct association, but Bridge is not. Even after multiple restarts, etc. About the only thing I haven't done is go to the main administrator account on the computer and checking its associations for the file types, but it doesn't seem to me that Bridge should be looking at that to decide what program to open for this user ID.

All of that is why, I'm really stumped on this one and was reaching out here.

You should look at the main administrator account and see what the settings are there.

That's probably where bridge is reading the file association from.
