Bridge CC 2017 Crashing on Startup MAC

Hi there,

I was working on an architectural photo job in Bridge CC 2015. I wanted to make a contact sheet in the Output Module, but noticed that it had just dissapeared.

So I went ahead and downloaded the Bridge CC 2017 update from the Adobe App Manger (thinking that the Output Module would be available in it).

When I then tried to open Bridge CC 2017 it doesn't even show the opening screen, the only thing which shows up is the bar at the top. Immediately after this it just shuts down. The whole process from opening to shutting down takes about 6 seconds.

I am on a MacMini late 2012. I am running macOS Sierra 10.12.3

I tried to download Bridge CC 2015 again, but it seems it is not available from the Adobe App Manager under previous versions.

Please help as I have a deadline to provide my client with Contact Sheets.

I not paying a subscription fee for software that does not work!

Kind regards,

Pieter

    Hi Pieter,

As I can see Bridge CC 2017 is not launching on your MacMini. Have you tried launching with Cmd + Opt pressed to clear the preview cache and preferences?

    OR

    1. Open Finder

    2. (From top menu bar) Select: Go > Go to Folder

    3. Enter: ~/Library | Click: Go

    4. Locate (Do not open): "Preferences" folder | Right click (or control Click): "Preferences" folder

    5. Click: Get Info

    6. Expand: Sharing & Permissions

    7. Click: "Lock" Icon (bottom right) | Enter your admin credentials and accept.

    8. Give ALL users "Read & Write" preferences. (In my case I had my profile user and an "Everyone")

    9. (For all the users) Click on the "Gear" icon below | Click "Apply to Enclosed Items..."

    10. Try to launch Bridge

I am having the same problem. I did as you suggested, Sahil, and still have the same problem. It didn't work. Shall I put the permissions back to what they were and try something else? This is getting very frustrating - a client is waiting for a portfolio that I am trying to make in Bridge (not got as far as downloading the output add on yet! why on earth was it removed?!). Thanks in advance, Jane

    Hi Jane,

I ended up contacting the Adobe Chat team, the person that helped me set up a screen sharing session and solved my issue that way. I should have contacted Chat straight away. I'm not sure exactly what the person did, it was in each case quite technical, but the person solved it in about 15min...

    Good luck!

    Pieter
