Why is it that Bridge cs6 recognizes AI extensions and provides thumbnails but won't provide a thumbnail for SVG extensions. Both are vector formats, and Illustrator exports in that format. Is it because they didn't give thought to it or is the file format to complex or what? Is the newest version capable of showing one?

Gee thanks, I kind of figured that one out myself. My question is WHY NOT? From what I've read the W3C consortium is in the process of passing new css standards that will allow new features like gradient mesh and some filters used in vector to be viewable in browsers to me that's great news. I think Adobe should maybe take the svg format as a viable final replacement for eps don't you. At least to take it serious enough to have a "show thumbnails feature" in their Bridge software.

Hi All,

We have released a new update of Adobe Bridge (CC 2018) on 16 July 2018. The new version build number is 8.1.0.383. This version is available to install via Adobe Creative Cloud application.

This Bridge update contains support for SVG and PNG files, with transparency grid. Please also check the "Libraries" workspace after installing new version of Bridge CC.
